Lyon, Marco Maier en Bellecour, 1697. In 2nd. Frontispiece with large Trinacria coat of arms surrounded by ears of wheat, with 153 sheets of plates, of which 1 plate reproduced in facsimile, some restoration on the first two cards, light browning, more intense on some cards, sporadic blooms, some rare halo , two photocopied sheets on the author glued to the first cards, binding in the middle Moroccan, author and title imprinted in gold on the back with 5 nerves, slight abrasions and peeling, light stains on the plates. & nbsp;
Specialist Notes
The work is both a numismatic collection and a work of a historical-geographical nature, in which series of ancient coins and illustrations of places and events are reproduced, published for the first time in 1612. Filippo Paruta (Palermo, unspecified date between 1552 and 1555- Palermo 1629). Graduated in utroque iure, he was a distinguished scholar of literature, history and numismatics. He became part of important literary associations such as the Accesi Academy first and the Accademia dei Risoluti later, within which the Paruta had a crossbow with the motto Ut vehementius as its emblem. He soon assumed an important position among intellectuals in the lively cultural climate of Palermo, becoming a prestigious exponent of the literary environment.
