dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, Straight, double-edged blade of lozenge section, the first part hexagonal, engraved with trophies and floral motifs and signed 'Mendozza 1850 Napoli'; bronze hilt, the shell-guard with Bourbon coat of arms under crown and framed with laurel fronds; small rear shell-guard, quillon and guard decorated with floral motifs, the pommel with drones and thunderbolts; horn grip with coils and metal wire binding; leather scabbard with brass mounts. length 94.5 cm.
