6-1/2“ rifled barrel (visible rifling, some staining and light pitting inside) featuring the serial number and the 'RA' mark on the rib, inside marked ”Q." Caliber probably 44 S&W Russian. Short extractor housing. Six-shot cylinder. Working mechanism. Frame without markings. Trigger guard with finger rest. Smooth wooden grips. Ring for the strap. Serial number “44xx” marked on barrel, cylinder, and grip. Traces of bluing, (probably old) and some pitting. Average to good condition. Some signs of wear and age. Interesting and rare.

Ludwig Loewe of Berlin produced, under contract for the Russian Tsarist government, copies of the New Model Russian, stamped in Cyrillic and bearing Russian military inspection marks. Commercial examples were, however, also manufactured, with English-lang
