7", rifled, 45 S&W cal. barrel, with bore in excellent condition. On the left side, the company address and patents up to 1871; on the right side, the Schofield patent from 1873; all marks are clearly defined between crosshairs. On the back of the rib, the typical groove of the Schofield model. Mechanism in excellent condition. Overall, 20% of the original bluing remains, with surfaces still fairly fresh and sharp edges. The barrel is marked "E" and "P" on the underside, with the same “E” mark also repeated on the cylinder and inside the frame, "P" mark is also present on the cylinder. The serial number "54xx" is matching on the cylinder, grip and inside the right grip scale. At the bottom of the grip there is also the military adoption mark “US”. Antique walnut grip scales, both with military inspection stamps, the left one also with the date "1876". Minimal signs of use and time. Kept in a modern case that echoes the design of the original ones. Very rare.
