Specialist Notes

Historian born in Milan 1459, perhaps died in 1519. Lodovico il Moro served, from whom he was appointed waiter of Gian Galeazzo Sforza; after the fall of the Moro, he suffered severe pain and damage. His Historia patria (princeps 1503) is noteworthy, the first history of Milan in the vernacular from its origins to 1499, precious (although often devoid of critical sense) starting from the age of the Municipalities, for the sources used, many of which today are dispersed.
