dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Shinogizukuri-iorimune. Nagasa (length: 70.5 cm), hada: itame mokume; hamon: gunome midare nioi deki konie muneyaki; boshi: ko maru kaeri fukai, finished-metal habaki with gilt sides. Nakago mumei with two mekugi-ana. Beautiful koshirae with mon of the Tokugawa. Tsuba in shakudo aoi-gata, inome-bori-sukashi, taka-zogan, ke-bori, with Tokugawa-mon. All handachi mounts decorated en suite. Tsuka made of beige-dark silk on fine gold and black fabric. Saya with beautiful red lacquer with Tokugawa mon in gold, complete with ashi. Blade of Shinshinto period, circa 1800; Koshirae of late 19th century early Taisho. length 97.5 cm.
