dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, Straight, single-edged blade, slightly shortened, with two grooves, the tang with deep, gold-inlaid mark of the Royal Factory of Naples. Fine engraved and pierced 'Garde de Bataille' type hilt, central loop-guard shaped as a bird's head at the end, counter-plate, short cap engraved at the top and sheath-guard band decorated with grapevine. Horn grip with coils and metal wire binding. Iron scabbard with two bronze suspension rings on bands decorated en suite. Very rare. length 101 cm.
