dating: hi-Momoyama Period (1573-1603) provenance: Japan, Shinogizukuri-iorimune. Nagasa (length: 69.8 cm long), hada: barely visible; hamon: choji midare togari nioi deki; boshi: ko maru kaeri fukai, unusual gold metal habaki. Nakago mumei with three mekugi-ana. Koshirae with iron tsuba, nage-kaku-gata, taka-zogan in gilt shakudo depicting the same dragon on both sides, usi-gaeshi-mimi, kozuka and kogai-hitsu-ana, one (kozuka) closed with ategane. Fuchi-kashira made of iron, taka-zogan made of shakudo and gold depicting floral motifs. Gold metal menuki with figures. Tsuka made of black silk. Simple, brown-lacquered, wooden saya with decorated metal koiguchi and horn kurigata. Kanbun period. Late Muromachi period, early Momoyama. length 96 cm.
