Smoothbore, two-stage, twisted, rifled barrel with saddle-shaped rear sight and foresight, both in silver; a gold hallmark on the powder chamber; 17 mm calibre at the nozzle. Engraved tang. Forward spring lock engraved with floral motifs and marked in block letters ‘S. MAZZA’. Hammer base with a tang for the safety catch. Wooden full stock, fluted butt and fish-scale carved grip, stock hand restcarved with lozenges. Simple engraved brass mounts; the front end of the trigger guard features an openwork double-headed eagle. Original horn-tipped, wooden ramrod.
