The bowl and visor are made of boiled leather dyed black, with a gilt brass crest of regulation shape. The front band features raised floral motifs and ends with a lion’s head; the front badge is decorated in relief with vines, flags, and a Samnite-style shield bearing an oval escutcheon with the Savoy cross and the collar of the Annunziata, beneath a royal crown (second type badge). The visor and neck guard are embossed with beaded borders and central arrows; the front edge and ear pieces are adorned with lion heads. Complete with dark blue-green cotton chenille. The inside of the bowl is painted green, with a dark morocco leather sweatband and an old brown silk lining.
