Curved blade with a fuller that doubles at the weak. The surface with remains of engravings. Slightly loose hilt, with a beautiful silver-plated brass guard marked “9,” featuring an elliptical shield charged with the Savoy eagle surmounted by a crown, all in relief. Two teardrop-shaped notches and a hole for the sword-knot. On the back, a small return valve, also silver-plated and stamped “9”. Long silver-plated brass cap ending in a lion's head. Fish leather grip covering, probably browned by use and time, with metal wire binding. Old leather scabbard with silver mounts, the tip possibly with a small mark at the knuckle guard. Two silver lugs. When closed, the return valve pushes a stop dents that secures the scabbard to the sword. Fairly good condition, with some use on the blade and signs of time. Rare officer's variant of the Regia Marina made of silver.
