Information

Regno di Sardegna
length 87,8 cm.
Slightly curved, single-and-a-half-edged blade, with thickened back that turns into a rib at the weak and runs to the tip. The surface is engraved for almost two thirds, featuring racemes on both sides, a trophy with a drum, cannon, and flags, along with other floral decorations and, again on both sides, a large anchor. The back is engraved with racemes. The right side was engraved later (but certainly during its period of use) with the inscription “Centro America.” At the base is the mark of a London manufacturer, not clearly legible “...OSCH & ...”. Brass hilt with a knuckle guard decorated with scales and loaded with a shield featuring the Savoy eagle in relief, resting on an anchor and surmounted by a crown. On the back, there is a small turning valve (closure with problems). The handle is covered with fish skin and wrapped with copper wire binding. Long cap culminating in a lion's head. Copper button. Metal scabbard covered with bituminous paint and brass mounts. Two lugs. Slight signs of wear and age.
