A VALUABLE HISTORICAL WORK, PRAISED BY TIRABOSCHI.
In 1782 he finished the first volume of this work and on 25 June he sent a copy to Tiraboschi who, in a letter to Affò, judged it "written very well, commonly and with great accuracy; I only regret the excessive desire to point out the errors of others, even if at times very slight" ( Letters from Girolamo Tiraboschi to Father Ireneo Affò , edited by C. Frati, Modena 1895, pp. 174 ff.).
