Lowered, five-shot cylinder with fuller, with the patent mark. Three-snap working mechanism. Frame marked "COLTS PATENT". Brass gripstraps. Smooth, walnut grip. Matching serial numbers "85xx" on barrel, frame, cylinder, gripstraps, and central pin. Barrel and cylinder retain about 35% of the antique browning. Frame with traces of casehardening. Gripstraps with much of the old silver finishing.
