Cylindrical, 7-1/2", 44 cal. barrel (visible rifling, various encrustations that need cleaning inside) with octagonal base, with low silver-coloured foresight, with remains of mark in brackets "ADDRESS SAM.L COLT NEW YORK CITY" with reading towards the nozzle. Smooth, six-shot cylinder with oval notches. Working mechanism, three snaps, working safety lock at the trigger. Frame with traces of "COLTS PATENT" mark. Squareback trigger guard, "G" mark beside. Brass grip bands. Walnut grip with some missing parts. Various pitting. Average to poor condition. Matching serial number on frame (pin not numbered), gripstraps and cylinder. The barrel wedge without numbers. The barrel is notched where the serial number usually is, so the numbers are not legible, however the cartridge rammer has abbreviated serial numbers coeval with the other components.
