GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 1970 Morgan 4/4 belongs to one of the longest-running lines in automotive history, born in 1936 and remaining in production for decades with very few stylistic changes. In the early 1970s, this model still retained the English manufacturer's typical handcrafted design, with a steel chassis, ash wood structure, and aluminum body, elements that contributed to its timeless appeal. The 1970 version was equipped with the 1,600 cc four-cylinder Ford engine, a reliable and relatively lively unit that, thanks to the car's very low weight, ensured lively performance and a direct, sporty ride. This combination made the 4/4 a roadster much appreciated by enthusiasts of pure driving. Production was deliberately limited and artisanal: in the late 1960s and early 1970s, only a few hundred units were built each year, with overall numbers relatively small compared to industrial production. The Morgan 4/4 was sold primarily in the United Kingdom, but also found a significant market in the United States and several European countries, where it was appreciated as a symbol of British motorsport tradition. Even today, the 4/4 from this period is considered one of the most authentic classic roadsters, combining handcrafted construction, timeless style, and simple yet engaging mechanics.
LOT DESCRIPTION
The car is well preserved, in its original configuration, in good mechanical condition and has been in current ownership since 1994.
