GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The 1973 Citroën DS Super belongs to the famous DS family, one of the most innovative cars in history, originally presented in 1955. In the 1970s, the Super version represented the mid-range trim level, retaining the futuristic allure and cutting-edge technology that had made the DS a global icon. Designed under the guidance of engineer André Lefèbvre and styled by Flaminio Bertoni, the DS stood out for its revolutionary solutions such as self-leveling hydropneumatic suspension, power steering, and high-pressure braking system, which ensured comfort and stability unthinkable for the time. The 1973 DS Super was equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing around 100 hp, sufficient for a smooth and quiet ride, ideal for long journeys. Of the entire DS production — over 1.4 million units up to 1975 — the Super versions are today appreciated because they combine technology, elegance and good usability as collectors' items.

LOT DESCRIPTION

Not just a car, but an international diva. This splendid Citroën DS, recently fully restored, boasts a distinguished film career: it was chosen by director Ridley Scott for "All the Money in the World" and, more recently, for Stefano Mordini's "The Catholic School." Of French origin but with valid Italian documents, it has been owned since 2019 by a meticulous collector who has preserved its excellence. Already bearing a Certificate of Historical Relevance (CRS ASI), this DS represents the perfect combination of technical perfection and red carpet allure.
