Specialist Notes
First edition, very rare. This edition was followed by one from 1749. The author, a Dominican, already in the proem rails against the bad habit of accepting the consumption of chocolate even in times of fasting. The excursus on the history of this food, from its origin to its introduction in Europe, is very interesting. The author then goes on to list all written in defense of chocolate, in order to refute them.
