Artist book kept in an orange canvas box in the shape of a triangular prism. The white pages, with rectangular die-cuts, are folded in the Chinese style and each contain a red sheet so that the text of the poem, printed in black, flows on the white pages, composing itself with the one printed on the red sheets. The pages keep flipping through their waving. French translation by Carmen Figueroa. Octavio Paz, who was appointed Ambassador of Mexico to India in 1962, stayed there for 6 years. The poem "Vrindaban", first published in 1965, is the lyrical account of this experience. The city of Vrindaban is one of the sacred places of Hinduism, where Krishna is said to have spent his childhood days playing the flute in the forests of the region. The French edition, the corrugated book in the triangular box, was born from the collaboration with Claude Givaudan, one of the pioneers of publishing specializing in artist books. Overall print run of 555 numbered copies. Copy belonging to the 500 in ordinary edition, number not affixed.
