dating: 17th Century provenance: Spain, Long blade of hexagonal section, with double grooves fretworked with windows and circles at the first part, a half-moon (or a letter 'D.') at the end of the grooves. Smooth, iron cup-hilt, in the upper third decorated with a band pierced and engraved with floral motifs and outlined edges, near the blade an engraved ring featuring circles on a granulated ground. Ribbed and pointed center of crossguard, straight quillons decorated with knots and with enlarged ends like the loop guard. Smooth spin-shaped pommel, wooden grip covered with wire binding and wire Moor's heads. In fine patina. length 134 cm.
