dating: provenance: Spain, Straight, double-edged blade of lozenge section, the ricasso marked 'CAINO' and with remains of the mark. Iron cup-shaped hilt worked in one piece, similar to the 'boca de caballo' type swords, the front valve carved in relief with the Shell of Santiago among decorative elements, the sides with petals, smooth back valve with rings at the border, the big valves with pierced edges featuring two open-works. Pointed tassel, broad quillons of round section, carved with coils in the last quarter and provided with a button. Loop-guard worked en suite. Spinning top pommel with remains of carving (rust damages). Original wooden handle with remains with Moor's heads, with no wire binding. In patina. length 123 cm.
