dating: 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Typical single-edged blade with double, thin grooves along the back, the base with gold cartouches (missing parts) with Arabic inscriptions and geometric and floral decorations. Beautiful grip entirely made of fine engraved silver, decorated in filigree with red cabochon stones, some nielloed parts and with remains of original gilding. Very fine wooden scabbard covered in silver foil embossed with floral motifs, two mirrored and crowned lions and two intertwined snakes, the cap richly decorated in filigree and with engraved and intertwined bands, the tip with monster head. The back marked with an engraved crown, the base at the back with a thin snake. Suspension ring with small chain. length 70.5 cm.
