dating: 1848 provenance: Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, Wide, curved, single-and-false-edged blade, with two fullers, the one near the back changes with three grooves, at the base inscription 'I Volontari Napoletani a Francesco Materazzo' on the right side, 'Per la Indipendenza Italiana' and the date '1848'on the other side, with an unidentified mark. Iron hilt with four loop-guards, half-length cap and horn grip (small missing parts) with metal wire binding. Complete with scabbard with two suspension rings. length 98.5 cm.
