dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Made of iron. Shaped as Maru-gata, kage-sukashi with cherry flowers and stylized caskets, kozuka hitsu-ana, ko-maru-mimi. Middle Edo period, 18th century. Very fine fretwork. Illustrated and described in Japanese, English and German in 'Tsuba' by Günther Heckmann, H.U.B. Verlag Nürtingen, 1995.
