dating: about 1880 provenance: Vietnam, Straight, double-edged blade, ribbed in the middle, tang covered with a brass-colored, metal ring-nut, with the inscription 'TOMMASO DI SAVOJA' on one side, between Savoy knots (the inscription probably added in modern times). Bronze-foil, oval grip with fine silver floral inlays. Embossed and engraved silver quillon and pommel decorated with dragons and ideograms. Wooden scabbard with very fine, floral, mother-of-pearl inlays, and with silver mounts embossed and engraved with floral motifs on a granulated background, four suspension rings. length 92 cm.
