Round, rifled, 50-70 CF cal barrel, bearing a few traces of markings along the top, fitted with front sight and with folding, adjustable rear sight with base marked with Lawrence patent. Clean bore with visible rifling (3 grooves). Browning probably refreshed. Receiver with breech-loading mechanism fitted with falling-block action, the trigger guard serving as release lever, and centre-fire striker. In working order. On the left side with Sharp’s 1848 patent marking. Tang with serial number “52xxx”. Walnut butt stock and fore-end, the former bearing on the left side the 1867 arsenal conversion cartouche (DFC within a framed cartouche). Iron mounts. Saddle ring bar plate stamped “A K”. Model fitted with patchbox with iron cover.
