Also featuring the “GM” mark surmounting a crescent moon, and marks “D” and crowned "P". Bore with visible rifling; various encrustments inside which need cleaning. Lock marked “F.x ESCOFFIER ENTREP.E M.re IMP.le De ST. ETIENNE,” with eagle on the tang and the date “1867.” Working two-snap mechanism, the first snap with working safety lock. Stock of walnut wood with small defects, signs of use and time, featuring Escoffier’s circular stamp on the butt stock, no longer clearly legible but with matching date; remains of other stamps on the wood, including the “GM” mark above the crescent moon. Iron mounts and ramrod. Uncommon.
