Smoothbore, two-stage, 16 mm cal barrel, octagonal and round with ring mouldings at the girdle, the powder chamber with Spanish marks, marks and decorations inlaid in gold (missing parts), slightly further forward a fine silver saddle rear sight with engraving; the nozzle slightly flared and fitted with front sight on silver dovetail base. Cal. 16 mm. Tang engraved with floral scrolls. Miquelet lock engraved at the tang and with bordered edges, the centre of the plate signed “GEN: CASTIGLIONE”. Walnut half-stock with grooved butt and neck carved with scales. Elegant and very fine silver mounts engraved with floral engraving, including the barrel band and ramrod pipe in silver (small missing parts to the lower tang of the muzzle ring). Horn-tipped wooden ramrod.
