height 17 cm.
Body made of black felt; the brim with a wide black band richly embroidered with floral motifs, complete with a large tricolour silk cockade, gilded-thread stripe, a gilt button bearing the fasces and the “RF” monogram, and white ostrich plumes. Featuring light-brown leather sweatband inside and white silk lining. In addition to the tailor’s “Sutton” gilt label, the owner’s monogram “M.P.” is still present. Together with: a pair of spare cuffs made of dark cloth decorated with gilded-thread bullion), a pair of gilt-metal spurs, and a pair of white gloves.
