Rifled (clean bore, rifling clearly visible), octagonal, browned, 14 mm cal barrel; at the breech a steel-finished section engraved with scrolls; at the start of the browned part a silver Greek fret, followed by the silver-inlaid inscription “C. PIRKO IN WIEN”; rear sight with one fixed and one folding leaf, front sight with silver side walls and a silver scrollwork insert. Engraved tang. Forward-spring lock with flat lockplate, signed “PIRKO WIEN” and finely floral-engraved. Working mechanism with double set trigger (stecher). Wooden full stock with a chequered base. Iron mounts decorated en suite; the rear part of the trigger guard, the patchbox, and the fore-end tip made of cow horn. Iron-tipped wooden ramrod with brass cartridge extractor. On the back, a small oval silver escutcheon.
