Information
Postcard reproducing one of the famous Dylan Dog covers, autographed by Tiziano Sclavi and measuring 15x21 cm. Launched in 1986 by Sergio Bonelli Editore, Dylan Dog was born from the visionary mind of Tiziano Sclavi. The writer infused the character with much of his own anxieties, phobias, and passions, creating a profoundly human, fragile, and cultured hero. Sclavi revolutionized serial comics by introducing complex themes such as loneliness, the horror of everyday life, and the surreal. Although the stories begin with horror premises (zombies, werewolves, ghosts), Sclavi's true fear is often existential. The monster is almost never the seemingly deformed, but "normal people" and indifference. Under Sclavi's guidance, Dylan Dog reached extremely high circulations (over 500,000 copies monthly in the 1990s), becoming a subject of study for intellectuals such as Umberto Eco, who declared that he could read for days on end only the Bible, Homer and Dylan Dog.
