Information
Oscar De La Hoya signed boxing glove with Beckett authentication. Oscar De La Hoya is one of the most illustrious and influential names in recent boxing history, aptly nicknamed "The Golden Boy." Of Mexican descent, but born in Los Angeles in 1973, De La Hoya combined exceptional athletic talent with a media charisma that made him a true transcultural icon, generating record box office receipts. As a professional, he set a record (at the time unique) by winning ten world titles in six different weight classes, from super featherweight to super welterweight. His list of victories is a veritable "Hall of Fame" of opponents, having faced all the best of his era, including Félix Trinidad, Shane Mosley (whom he fought twice), Bernard Hopkins, and, in his penultimate match, the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr., a bout that generated unprecedented revenue in boxing history. After retiring in 2009, De La Hoya did not leave the ring world, but founded Golden Boy Promotions, one of the leading boxing promotion companies, continuing to shape the sport from behind the scenes.
