Information

Signed photo of John Landis, director of Michael Jackson's iconic music video "Thriller," Beckett certified, 8" x 10" (21.5 x 20 cm). Director John Landis, known for blockbusters such as The Blues Brothers and Animal House, also left an indelible mark on music history by directing Michael Jackson's 1983 music video for "Thriller." This was no ordinary music video, but a full-fledged horror short film, nearly 14 minutes long, inspired by Landis's film An American Werewolf in London. Landis, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jackson, transformed the concept of a music video. "Thriller" is considered the first "mini-film" in pop history, with a narrative, dialogue, and high production values. He also created the iconic zombie dance sequence, which has inspired countless imitations and flash mobs around the world. Landis’s direction helped elevate the music video from a promotional tool to an art form, forever changing the way visual music was conceived and produced.
