Model of the legendary Delorean, the car featured in "Back to the Future," autographed by Christopher Lloyd, certified by Beckett. The DeLorean and Christopher Lloyd are two names inextricably linked thanks to the resoundingly successful Back to the Future film trilogy. In the films, Doc Brown, played by Christopher Lloyd, invents a time machine using a modified DeLorean DMC-12, an iconic 1980s sports car. This unique vehicle requires 1.21 gigawatts of power and reaches speeds of 87 miles per hour to travel through time. The DeLorean and Doc Brown are an inseparable pair. The car wouldn't be the same without Doc's ingenuity, and Doc's adventures through time wouldn't be possible without the DeLorean. The Back to the Future trilogy made the DeLorean a pop culture phenomenon. Despite the financial difficulties it faced before the film, the car became instantly recognizable and a symbol of time travel. Even today, the DeLorean and Doc Brown remain pop culture icons. Their image is used in merchandise, video games, and even inspired real-life attempts (albeit without the plutonium!) to create a working time machine.
