1995 Kenner Darth Vader action figure from the “Power of the Force” series, autographed by Dave Prowse, the actor who played the character in the Star Wars saga. The autograph is certified by JSA. Dave Prowse (1935–2020) was a British actor, bodybuilder, and weightlifter, best known for providing the physicality of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes IV, V, and VI). Due to his accent, his voice was dubbed by James Earl Jones. Standing over two meters tall (approximately 1.98 m), his imposing stature was crucial to the Dark Lord of the Sith's menacing appearance. Prowse also had other roles, including Frank Alexander's aide in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. This action figure is part of the "Power of the Force" line launched in 1995 by Kenner (then owned by Hasbro), marking the return of Star Wars action figures after a long hiatus. Although the action figure didn't feature Prowse's face, it has always been a popular autograph item. Collectors often looked for Dave Prowse's signature on the blister or on the back of the box, where the actor proudly added the inscription "Is Darth Vader" to acknowledge his contribution to the character. The action figure is housed in a protective blister pack from an American store where it was originally sold, also containing the JSA certification tag.
