Specialist Notes

An imposing and rare work to find, complete with the Index volume.

No writer before Troyli had ever written such a comprehensive history of the Kingdom of Naples. To draft it, he relied on books and archive documents, reconstructing the ancient and modern history of the Kingdom, the topography of its provinces and cities accompanied by their histories, descriptions of plants, herbs, animals, volcanoes, art, illustrious men, etc.
Soria, p.603; Minieri Riccio, p.358.
