Naples, Simoniana, 1766. In 4°. 2 volumes. Two copper-engraved portraits outside the text by Antonio Baldi, depicting Granata and Clement XIII, to whom the work is dedicated. An excellent copy on large, slightly foxed paper. Contemporary parchment binding on the covers. Beautiful frame bordered with gold floral decorations, gilt edges at the four corners, a beautiful floral decoration in the center. Title on the spine on leather covers. Red spray edges.
Specialist Notes
The author lists the series of Capuan Bishops and Archbishops with the split that occurred in this Church in the 9th century, speaks of the Councils celebrated here, of all the Churches and Dioceses, of the illustrious ecclesiastics who flourished there and ends with various monuments.
