Original comic art made by Crepax for "Emmanuelle," first published on page 20 by Olympia Press in 1978. Crepax's art meets Arsan's scandalous novel in a work that celebrates sexual emancipation, recounting Emmanuelle's erotic initiation against the backdrop of a dreamy Orient. Rather than an orderly succession of panels, the panel, divided into various geometric shapes like a Mondrian painting, presents itself as a meaningful unity following a single rule: eroticism defined as the cult of pleasure freed from all morality.
