Specialist Notes
The seat is made in the classic style of Ethiopian chairs. It is also found among the Guraghe, a neighbouring group living in the southern mountains of Ethiopia at an altitude of around 1,500-2,500 metres. The tradition of these chairs derives from populations that have adopted elements of the Catholic religion. They are extremely rare in the West. Old breakages.
