Percussion lock equipped with Maynard-patent firing system, marked on the tang ‘REMINGTON'S ILION N.Y.’ and ‘1857 U.S.’. Working mechanism. Full wooden stock, possibly with remains of an inspection stamp next to the counter plate, with low comb butt. Iron mounts marked ‘CB’, ‘B’ and “S”, butt plate marked ‘US’. Iron ramrod. Muzzle ring with front sight.
