2-1/2" barrel with Hartford company address in two lines. Bore with slight encrustments that need cleaning, light signs of use, visible rifling. Mark "COLT D.A. 38" on the side. Six-shot cylinder. Working mechanism but needs revision (cylinder rotates clockwise but turns in opposite direction when the trigger is released). Pin with short type head. Frame with patents up to 1875. Engraved raceme and silver finishing, probably later. Browned cock and trigger. Well-preserved checkered hard-rubber grip scales with company horse in relief. Matching numbers "160xxx" on frame, trigger guard and grip. The loading gate numbered "74".
