4-1/2" barrel with Hartford company address in two lines and "DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON". Clean bore, visible rifling, a couple of slight fouling inside and light signs of use. Mark "COLT D.A. 38" on the side. Six-shot cylinder, mark of the London test bench. Partially working mechanism (only double action, sometimes difficulty in rotating the cylinder). Frame with patents up to 1875. Trigger guard marked "38 Cal." Barrel with traces of browning. Frame with antique casehardening still clearly visible. Grip and trigger guard with 50% of antique browning. Well-preserved hard-rubber grip scales with company horse in relief. Matching numbers "37xxx" on the frame, trigger guard and grip. The loading gate numbered "948".
