Smoothbore, 32", round barrel, faceted outside in the first segment. At the base, on the right side, remains of the inscription in italics (only partially legible) "Patent Arms Mo Co. Pater... N: ... - Colt... Pt.". One barrel wedge numbered "23" (with small surface crack above it, which did not affect the bore or the barrel structure), the other barrel wedge is missing. Barrel numbered "70" on the bottom of the breech. Small fore sight, traces of the rear sight base. Calibre .525 (13.3 mm. at the nozzle). Bore with signs of use and some areas with pitting. Cylindrical, six-shot cylinder, not round on the back, without visible engravings, outlines, with serial number "70" (stamped on the back). The shaft with rotation pin marked "70" as well as the back plate. Partially working mechanism, needs revision: when cocking the hammer, the cylinder rotates and locks with correct alignment, but the hammer does not stay cocked and the trigger fails to engage. Right-side loading cutout for percussion caps. Antique, walnut butt (small missing part on one side of the grip and block stopped with a nail) featuring on the right side of the butt stock a beautiful shield stamped deep into the wood with a large central fleur-de-lis surmounting the letters "P. P." (to be identified). Iron butt plate. Average to good state of preservation, with some pitting, signs of use and time. Definitely deserves a proper restoration of wood and mechanism. First version, without cartridge rammer.
