Smoothbore, round, 12 cal. barrels (clean bores), browned; the rib made of damask marked "BOSS & C.o 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET LONDON"; foresight. Tang finely engraved with spirals. Backward spring locks signed "BOSS & C.o" with lock plates engraved with spirals. The lever is located at the bottom with a quillon that ends in the right lock plate. Wooden butt and fore-end, checkered grip and hand support. Engraved, iron mounts, the tang of the trigger guard with serial number "56xx". Oval shield on the underside of the butt. Working mechanism. Kept in its original leather case, which originally contained a pair of double-barreled guns, the outer lid marked "R. C. R. M. CLARKE", the inner lid with manufacturer's label.
