GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Maserati Quattroporte belongs to the fifth generation of Maserati's luxury sedan, a model that marked a significant turning point for the Modena-based brand thanks to its blend of elegance, sportiness, and modern technology. Introduced in 2003 and produced in the following years, this generation (code M139) brought the Quattroporte back to the forefront of the high-end sports sedan segment. The design, penned by Pininfarina, is characterized by taut lines and classic proportions: a long hood, set-back cabin, and a compact rear end, elements reminiscent of traditional Italian grand tourers. The cabin offered a luxurious atmosphere with fine leathers, wood trim, and a configuration designed for the comfort of four passengers. It was powered by the renowned 4.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, developed in collaboration with Ferrari, capable of approximately 400 hp. Rear-wheel drive was used, and the first version adopted the electro-actuated six-speed DuoSelect transmission, derived from the brand's sports car technology. Performance was top-notch for a luxury sedan: a top speed of over 275 km/h, 0-100 km/h acceleration in around 5.2 seconds, and a sporty setup with perfect weight distribution. Technically, the car stood out for its highly rigid steel chassis, electronically controlled Skyhook suspension, high-performance braking system, and a dynamic setup closer to a coupé than a traditional sedan. The fifth-generation Quattroporte was produced between 2003 and 2012, with approximately 25,000 units built. The early models (2004-2006), like the 2005 model, represent the initial production phase and can be identified by the DuoSelect gearbox and some aesthetic features specific to the first series.

LOT DESCRIPTION

A flagship with unmistakable prestige and a racing soul. This superb 2005 Maserati Quattroporte, from a single owner, is timeless, finished in classic Grigio Alfieri with luxurious biscuit leather interior and a sunroof. All services have been performed exclusively by the official dealership, and, crucially, the clutch was replaced in 2024. Furthermore, the interior control panel has been restored, solving the notorious problem of deteriorating plastic parts, ensuring a flawless example.
Its first registration in 2005 makes it eligible to be considered a vehicle of historical and collectible interest.
