A beautiful and important letter from Litta, in which he updates the correspondent on his monumental work on the famous Italian families . "...Do you know that I have now finished the House of Savoy? And I did wonderfully well by narrating all the events of the Carbonari in the revolution of 1821 with the greatest simplicity, but I had a hard time keeping my balance so as not to fall. However, I am very happy to have finished a work that had given me great awe. Now, for the next Consistory, I have in my heart the Orsini, the Borromeo, the Adorno and the Fregoso, and despite the increasing age, I have in mind the della Rovere and the Malatesta. I would like to do the Farnesi, but I have no correspondence in Umbria (...)."
