Title page with title in an architectural frame, initials and woodcut decorations, with 26 copperplate plates in the text, missing the large folded leaf outside the text, printer's mark on the verso of the last leaf, some light stains, modern brown leather binding.
Specialist Notes
First edition. The moving square or zoppa was made of brass by Fabri, a Venetian engineer and surveyor. Such instruments became widely used during the 17th century, when the need for precise land measurement increased significantly. Riccardi.1,434.
