Large photograph of Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy-Aosta, 280 x 200 mm, in the guise of his ancestor, founder of the House of Savoy, Count Umberto Biancamano. He signs the photo at the bottom: Umberto Biancamano 1003-1893. The photograph was taken by Alinari in Florence.
Specialist Notes
The photo was taken at the ball held in Rome on April 25, 1893, to celebrate the silver wedding anniversary of King Umberto I and Margherita of Savoy-Genoa. For that occasion, Emanuele Filiberto was dressed in the style of his ancestor, Count Biancamano, the founder of the House of Savoy.
