Specialist Notes

This is a particularly rare second edition of the work in which the mathematician Bonaventura Cavalieri (1589-1647) first presented his concept of "indivisibles," infinitesimal geometric elements. This text represented a true revolution for the discipline and laid the foundations for the theory of infinitesimal calculus.
