Disillusionment in Modern Opinion or Astrology taken from the railing and placed in the Piazza, with which it proves that Astrology is a science given by the Lord God. And therefore very useful to the Republic…. In Naples, with permission of the Superiors, in the Printing House of Francesco Benzi of the City of Forlì, 1690. 4°, artistic allegorical frontispiece engraved on copper. Contemporary binding in full parchment, calligraphic title.

Specialist Notes

The work is a collection of 80 passages from the Bible, the Fathers of the Church and the major philosophers "oriented and interpreted in an astrological and magical way. In the dedicatory letter the Author affirms the astrological "necessitas" "facultatis" in Medicine and indeed announces the future publication of a work with that title (or similar), but which has never seen the light.
